About Sudarsshan Pollyblends
Sudarsshan Pollyblends Pvt. Ltd. is a leading compounder and masterbatch manufacturer specializing in high-performance polymer formulations for automotive, appliance, and packaging applications. We produce engineered Polypropylene (PP) compounds, glass-fiber reinforced grades, mineral-filled matrixes, elastomeric impact-modified formulations, and functional masterbatches. As automotive OEMs rapidly transition toward lightweighting, carbon footprint reduction, and circular economy mandates, we are expanding our supply chain to integrate high-quality prime resins, sustainable recycled polymers, and specialty additives.
Role Overview
We are seeking a senior procurement leader for the position of Purchase Manager / Senior Sourcing Manager (Polymer Raw Materials) with 15–20 years of hands-on procurement, strategic sourcing, and vendor development experience within the polymer compounding industry.
In this role, you will lead the end-to-end procurement strategy for prime resins, post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastics, post-industrial recycled (PIR) feeds, glass fibers, elastomers, coupling agents, and mineral fillers. You will leverage an established vendor network, deep technical resin knowledge, and sharp negotiation skills to secure consistent feedstocks, optimize raw material costs, and build a resilient circular economy supply chain compliant with strict automotive OEM specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Feedstock Procurement
-
- Prime & Engineering Resins: Direct the procurement of base polymers—including prime Polypropylene (Impact Copolymer, Homopolymer, Random Copolymer), mLLDPE, and elastomeric impact modifiers (POE, SEBS, OBCs)—from primary petrochemical producers (e.g., Reliance, IOCL, HMEL, GAIL, Dow, ExxonMobil).
- Recycled Polymer Sourcing: Build and manage a robust supply pipeline of high-grade Post-Consumer Recycled (PCR) and Post-Industrial Recycled (PIR) PP, PE, and engineering regrinds from verified recyclers and waste aggregators.
- Additives & Reinforcements: Source functional fillers, coupling agents (PP-g-MAH), glass fiber strands (chopped/roving), flame retardants, slip/antiblock additives, and color pigments at competitive prices.
Technical Vendor Quality & OEM Compliance
- Quality & Consistency Standards: Establish stringent inbound quality verification protocols for recycled feedstocks (MFI consistency, density, ash content, impact retention, and odor/decontamination profiles) to ensure compliance with OEM automotive standards.
- Audits & Sustainability Certification: Conduct vendor audits, track feedstock traceability, and ensure supply chain compliance with automotive OEM sustainability targets and circular economy mandates.
- Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Develop multi-tier relationships with major petrochemical manufacturers, domestic recyclers, scrap processors, and international trading houses.
Commercial Negotiation & Cost Optimization
- Contract Negotiations: Lead high-value pricing negotiations, formula-based contracts, price-indexing agreements, and long-term volume rebate frameworks to achieve target margins.
- Cost Drivers & Market Tracking: Monitor global and domestic polymer market dynamics (ICIS, Platts, spot resin indices, monomer cost curves, import tariffs, and freight dynamics) to optimize purchasing timing.
- Working Capital & Inventory Management: Balance raw material inventory turns with production schedules to minimize holding costs while ensuring zero line stoppages at plant manufacturing operations.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or Mechanical Engineering. Post-graduate qualifications in Supply Chain Management or an MBA in Materials Management/Operations is preferred.
- Experience: 15–20 years of progressive procurement and strategic sourcing experience within a polymer compounding, masterbatch, or plastics conversion enterprise catering directly to automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers.
Technical & Functional Competencies
- In-Depth Polymer & Recycling Knowledge: Deep technical understanding of polymer grades, melt flow indexes (MFI), filler loading behavior, and property degradation in recycled streams.
- Recycled Market Ecosystem: Extensive existing relationships with plastic recycling networks, waste management aggregators, and reprocessors across India.
- Commercial Acumen: Outstanding negotiation track record with domestic petrochemical suppliers, international traders, and chemical distributors.
- ERP & Procurement Systems: Proficiency in modern ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics) for inventory planning, purchase order execution, and vendor performance analytics.
What We Offer
- Senior strategic role with direct impact on company margins and sustainability strategy.
- Competitive executive compensation package commensurate with experience and industry benchmarks.
- Opportunity to lead circular economy initiatives for automotive materials within a growing compounding business.
