About Sudarsshan Pollyblends
Sudarsshan Pollyblends Pvt. Ltd. is an established compounder and masterbatch manufacturer engineering high-performance polymer solutions for demanding industrial and automotive applications. Specializing in advanced Polypropylene (PP) compounds, glass-fiber reinforced formulations, mineral-filled matrixes, elastomeric impact-modified grades, and specialty masterbatches, we partner with top-tier automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers to execute metal-to-plastic conversions, structural weight reduction, and material optimization.
Role Overview
We are seeking a seasoned business leader for the position of General Manager, Marketing & Sales - Automotive Division (Western Region), with 15–25 years of progressive executive experience across engineered thermoplastics, masterbatches, and compounding solutions.
Headquartered strategically within Western India’s premier automotive hubs (spanning the Pune–Chakan–Pimpri belt, Mumbai commercial headquarters, and Gujarat’s Sanand/Becharaji automotive corridor), you will take end-to-end P&L responsibility for Western Region growth. You will drive high-level OEM spec-in strategies, lead strategic joint development programs with C-suite and R&D stakeholders, and oversee key regional accounts across passenger vehicle, two-wheeler, commercial vehicle, and EV platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Executive Leadership & Regional P&L Management
-
- Regional P&L Ownership: Drive regional revenue targets, gross margin optimization, and strategic market share growth across the Western India automotive belt (Pune, Chakan, Ranjangaon, Nashik, Mumbai, Sanand, Becharaji, and Halol).
- Key Account & OEM Executive Engagement: Cultivate C-level, Head of Purchasing, and Chief Material Engineer relationships at major automotive OEMs (e.g., Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Auto, MG Motor, Maruti Suzuki Sanand) and Tier-1 mega-molders.
- Strategic Growth Roadmap: Define multi-year commercial strategies for custom PP compounds (glass-fiber, mineral-filled, elastomeric TPO blends, and flame-retardant systems) to displace traditional engineering resins like PA6, ABS, or sheet metals.
- Contractual Negotiations: Direct high-value annual supply agreements, indexing models, raw material cost pass-through frameworks, and strategic molder vendor approvals.
Application Engineering & Homologation Leadership
- Platform Homologation Pipeline: Lead the multi-stage material approval cycle—from early concept development and digital design matching (MFI, density, modulus, shrinkage profiles) to full vehicle platform spec-in.
- Technical Troubleshooting Supervision: Guide technical support teams during molder site trials, ensuring zero-defect tooling adoption (addressing differential warpage, shrinkage matching, surface energy retention, and cycle time reduction).
- New Application Scoping: Champion material innovations across EV battery enclosures, lightweight interior/exterior modules, paintable PP compounds, and sound-absorbing structural components.
Cross-Functional Strategy & Market Intelligence
- R&D & Operations Alignment: Serve as the direct bridge between regional customer demand and central manufacturing/R&D teams to accelerate customized formulation developments and continuous compounding expansions.
- Competitor Intelligence & Trends: Monitor market shifts, regulatory developments (sustainability/recycled resin mandates, vehicle lightweighting), and competitive product positioning across Western India.
- Talent Development: Mentor and build a high-performing regional team of technical sales managers and application development engineers.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or Mechanical Engineering. An MBA in Marketing, Strategy, or General Management from a premier institution is strongly preferred.
- Experience: 15–25 years of technical sales, strategic marketing, or business unit leadership experience in the polymer compounding, or engineering plastics sector in the automotive industry.
- Industry Focus: Proven track record of managing multi-crore P&Ls and securing specification approvals directly with major automotive OEMs and Tier-1 molder ecosystems in Western India.
Core Competencies
- In-Depth Polymer Knowledge: Thorough command of polyolefin chemistry, elastomeric modifiers (POE, SEBS, OBCs), coupling agents, mineral fillers (talc/CaCO3), glass reinforcements, and functional masterbatches.
- Tooling & Processing Mastery: Extensive knowledge of injection molding behavior, mold shrinkage matching, tool swapping strategies, and part validation protocols.
- Strategic Commercial Acumen: Exceptional contract negotiation, value-proposition modeling, and executive relationship management skills.
What We Offer
- Leadership presence with direct influence on corporate expansion and product development roadmaps.
- Highly competitive executive compensation package comprising a fixed salary, executive perks, and performance-linked P&L bonuses.
- Operational autonomy to scale Western Region business units within a fast-expanding compounding enterprise.
