Role Overview
We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Marketing Manager (Automotive Division) based in Western India (Pune, Mumbai, or Sanand) with 10–15 years of hands-on experience in technical sales, market development, and account management within the compounding and engineered thermoplastics industry.
Focusing on the West India automotive ecosystem (spanning the Pune–Chakan–Pimpri industrial belt, Mumbai headquarters, and Gujarat’s Sanand/Becharaji manufacturing cluster), you will drive regional commercial growth, lead multi-year material spec-in campaigns with OEM engineering teams, and manage relationships with key Tier-1 injection molders.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Account Management & Regional Business Growth

- OEM Account Leadership: Own and expand key accounts across major automotive OEMs (e.g., Tata Motors, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bajaj Auto, MG Motor, Maruti Suzuki Sanand) and top-tier global/domestic injection molders in Western India.
- Commercial Execution: Drive revenue expansion, profit margin optimization, annual pricing agreements, and raw material indexation frameworks across regional accounts.
- Material Substitution Campaigns: Identify and pitch opportunities to displace engineering polymers (PA6, PA66, ABS) or sheet metal with tailored, cost-effective Polypropylene compounds (glass-reinforced, mineral-filled, elastomeric TPO blends, and HFFR grades).
Technical Application Development & Homologation Pipeline
- OEM Specification Approvals: Lead the end-to-end material approval process with OEM Central R&D, Materials Engineering, and Testing divisions from initial sampling through full platform spec-in.
- Tooling Trials & Part Validation: Coordinate molder-level tooling trials alongside molder technical teams—overseeing mold shrinkage matching, warpage mitigation, surface energy retention, MFI selection, and cycle-time optimization.
- Joint Engineering Engagement: Work closely with OEM design engineers to recommend optimal material grades for interior trim, exterior claddings, under-the-hood structural modules, and EV battery housing components.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Market Trends & Voice of Customer: Track regional OEM production volumes, platform launches, EV lightweighting trends, and post-consumer recycled (PCR) resin mandates to feed regional demand trends directly to central R&D.
- Exhibitions & Industry Presence: Represent Sudarsshan Pollyblends at key regional automotive expos, supplier meets, and technical conferences across Western India.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Material Science, or Mechanical Engineering. An MBA in Marketing or Business Management is preferred.
- Experience: 10–15 years of progressive experience in technical sales, application engineering, or market development within polymer compounding, or engineering thermoplastics dedicated to automotive OEMs.
- Track Record: Proven success in securing specification approvals for polypropylene or engineered resin formulations across passenger vehicle, commercial vehicle, or two-wheeler platforms.
Technical & Functional Competencies
- Material Expertise: In-depth understanding of Polypropylene compounding chemistry, elastomeric modifiers (POE, SEBS, OBCs), coupling agents, mineral fillers (talc/CaCO3), glass fiber reinforcements, and functional masterbatches.
- Tooling & Injection Molding Knowledge: Thorough understanding of injection molding processes, mold shrinkage control, tool swapping parameters, and part performance testing.
- B2B Relationship & Negotiation Skills: Strong commercial acumen with an established network across OEM Purchasing, R&D, and Tier-1 molder teams in the Pune, Mumbai, and Gujarat automotive belts.
